Gumshoe High is an all teen detective short feature, done in Noir style. Teens in conservative central Missouri expressed the want to be in a feature film and to have the full experience. The Showdown Academy brought real LA directors and film crew to create this short feature. Along the way teens learned how to film, edit, produce, as well as all the other functions it took to make a movie, all while acting in the movie.

In a rural town in Missouri, a Hollywood group comes every year to give these teens a safe place to be themselves while showing them life outside Missouri. Through their yearly camp they teach teens life skills beyond the theater that take them to a next level in their life. This documentary shows how important the arts are to developing strong, independent thinking individuals.

Our production company brought a team of artists and Hollywood pros to Hoopa High School on the Hoopa Valley Reservation. In May, they ran one-week creativity workshops in writing, acting, dance, composing, and so much more.
